The Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, participated today in the agenda of the forty-first session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers held in the Republic of Tunisia with the participation of Arab Interior Ministers and senior security delegations.
During the agenda of the Council, the Minister of Interior delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the members of the Leadership Council, and their wishes for this session, all success and success in a way that enhances common Arab security.
Major General Haidan valued the honorable Arab positions in support of Yemen and his aspiration to continue support for the rehabilitation of the human cadre at the Ministry of Interior .
The Minister of Interior explained the serious events in the region, and the great and successive challenges witnessed by the whole world, and the Arab region in particular, starting with the Israeli aggression on Gaza, which left thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of them women and children, and passing through the escalating threats in the Red Sea as a result of the operations of the Houthi terrorist group, including piracy, kidnapping and targeting of ships.
He pointed out that all this requires more caution, sensing the risks and developing collective solutions that weaken these Melchizedek terrorist entities .
The Minister of Interior  pointed to the futility of terrorist militias in Yemen, which led to the near total destruction of the security institution, which requires its rebuilding.
During his speech, Major General Haidan confirmed that Yemen welcomed the decision of the United States of America to classify the Houthis as a global terrorist group and the haste of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers to include the Houthis in the list of terrorist entities two years ago.
Major General Haidan called on the international community in general and the Arab world in particular to reject the behavior of terrorist militias in the Red Sea and take firm and urgent measures towards them before the economic repercussions of the conflict in the Red Sea turn into a famine that threatens the Yemeni people and poor people.
The Minister of Interior reiterated the readiness of the Yemeni government and its forces to overthrow the Houthi coup, restore the institutions of the Yemeni state, and remove all threats against Yemenis, the region, and the world if full support is available to extend its control over the entire Yemeni territory.
Participants in the agenda discussed the report of the Secretary-General of the Council on the work of the General Secretariat between the fortieth and forty-first sessions of the Council, and the report of the President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences on the work of the University between the two sessions, as well as the recommendations issued by conferences and meetings held within the scope of the General Secretariat during 2023.
The Council also discussed a draft eleventh Arab security plan, a draft ninth Arab media plan for security awareness and crime prevention, and a draft eighth interim plan for the Arab traffic safety strategy
