The Minister of Interior,  Major General Ibrahim Haidan, launched  today, at the Civil Status and Civil Registry Department branch in the temporary capital of Aden , the work to issue the  ID card with the smart chip.
During the inauguration, the Minister of Interior explained that the project is in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Presidential Leadership Council President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi  and His Excellency the Prime Minister Dr. Moeen Abdul Malik to form the information  infrastructure for the requirements of  e-government.
Major General Haidan pointed to the high digital protection systems that  characterize the smart card in cooperation with international companies in the field of verification systems and data encryption.
Stressing the importance of facilitating citizens' access to the smart card to benefit from the services provided by the card.
The Minister of Interior was briefed by the Director of the Civil Status Authority Branch in Aden, Colonel Issam Omar Abdullah, on the forms of the procedures for issuing the  ID card.
During the inauguration, the Minister of Interior was accompanied by the Director General of Ports and Airports, Brigadier General Mohammed Abd Rabbo, and the Deputy Director General of the Office of the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant Colonel  Saleh Basmir.
In a related context, the Undersecretary of Marib Governorate, Dr. Abd Rabbo, inaugurated the key to issuing the  ID card with the smart chip in the presence of the Director General
