The Minister of Interior Discusses with His Djiboutian Counterpart Security Relations and Ways to Develop Them

The Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, discussed, during his meeting today in the Djibouti capital, with his counterpart, the Djiboutian Minister of Interior, Saeed Noah Hassan, the security relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to develop them, within the framework of his visit to the Republic of Djibouti at the invitation of the Red Sea Regional Program.

The Minister of Interior affirmed the depth of the close relationship between the two peoples, pointing out that the geographical location of the two neighboring countries requires the two ministries of interior to coordinate permanently for the interest, security and stability of the two countries and the world.

Minister Haidan noted that the terrorist Houthi coup militia and behind it Iran have turned the Bab al-Mandab corridor into a line for smuggling weapons and drugs in clear defiance of UN Security Council resolutions, noting that the weapons ships seized by the US Navy from time to time are the best evidence.

The Minister of Interior pointed out that these and other issues require the two countries to activate the security cooperation agreement signed between the two countries and to activate contact points to facilitate the exchange of information between the two sides in combating terrorism, smuggling and human trafficking.

For his part, the Djiboutian minister welcomed the visit of the Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, explaining that the Yemeni-Djiboutian brotherly relations are historical and distinguished, and that the Djiboutian Ministry of Interior looks forward to strengthening security cooperation between the two countries.

He expressed his happiness that there are protocols to activate the security cooperation agreement between the two countries, referring to the challenges facing the two countries represented in smuggling, terrorism and piracy, and joint cooperation efforts to overcome them, stressing that the Djiboutian Ministry of Interior seeks to exchange experiences and information with the Yemeni Ministry of Interior in order to achieve Red Sea security and aspirations. The two brotherly peoples.

At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister, Major General Haidan, handed the shield of the Yemeni Ministry of Interior to his Djiboutian counterpart.
