The General Directorate of Drug Control at the Ministry of Interior concluded today's consultation meeting for the departments of the drug control branches in the governorates. Here commended the meeting, which comes in conjunction with the inauguration of the activities of the World Drug Day, to provide the branches with modern capabilities. It is to confront the drug threat and reduce its spread. In addition to coordinating efforts and sharing them with the relevant authorities. It is to enhance the activity of the branches in combating the scourge of drugs and raising their capabilities in the land, sea and air ports of the country. 
The meeting, chaired by the Director General of the General Directorate of Drug Control, Brigadier General Nasser Al-Awash, confirmed the establishment of a joint operations room in the General Directorate of Drug Control. It facilitates the exchange of information and coordination of efforts with the branches of the control departments in the governorates. The outcomes of the meeting included coordination of efforts with judicial authorities, public prosecutors and activation of legal materials concerned with confiscating the belongings of the accused. It is for the benefit of the control authorities to benefit from resources in the conduct of their work and activity. The recommendations of the consultative meeting addressed the strengthening of international cooperation, the exchange of information and expertise. It is on the detection of smuggling and drug trafficking, urging the provision of modern drug detection devices at ports. It saves time and effort during the inspection of passenger holdings and maintain their safety
