The Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, today in the temporary capital of Aden, discussed with the US ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Fagan, the threats of the terrorist Houthi militias and the strengthening of joint cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, supporting the Coast Guard and supporting the plan to secure the province of Aden.
The Secretary of the Interior appreciated the efforts of the United States in supporting the legitimate government and its role in securing navigation and seizing many ships that deal with the Houthi militias in the smuggling of weapons and drugs.
Expressing Yemen's aspiration to classify the Houthi militia as a terrorist group by the US administration.
For his part, the US ambassador stressed his country's continued support for the Yemeni government, support for the security and military agencies, and securing international navigation from terrorist threats and its keenness to unify the military and security agencies in the legitimate government.
Commending the Yemeni government's response to the peace initiatives, which met with the rejection and intransigence of the Houthi militias.
