Minister of Interior to receive the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen

The Minister of the Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, discussed today, in the interim capital of Aden, with the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen, David Grisley, and his delegation.
The meeting dealt with strengthening relations and aspects of cooperation and coordination between Yemen and the United Nations in areas with humanitarian aspects.
The meeting addressed the joint efforts to achieve integration and cooperation between the security services and international organizations, secure the furniture and staff of the United Nations working in Yemen and facilitate their movements with ease to maintain their safety, especially after the incidents that clearly reflect the clashes between terrorist groups and Houthi militias.
The meeting also dealt with the efforts to support the Yemeni authorities in facing and shouldering the burdens of waves of internal displacement of the displaced, who were abandoned by the Houthi factions, or by migration, especially from the Horn of Africa, and the extent of the impact on the general conditions and the host society, in addition to paying attention to the issue of the voluntary return of African migrants to their countries, the roles of the United Nations in this regard, and other humanitarian, relief and development roles.
The Minister of the Interior appreciated the efforts of the United Nations crews working in Yemen.
Stressing the keenness to facilitate its tasks to the fullest to contribute to alleviating the suffering caused by the war, which was triggered by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist coup militia.
For his part, the UN official reviewed the efforts of the UN organizations providing assistance to IDPs and migrants from the Horn of Africa.
Appreciating the role of the Ministry of Interior and its leadership in providing all facilities to the UN teams in order to carry out their humanitarian tasks and secure their movements easily and easily
