The police of the Directorate of Shipping in Al-Mahra Governorate managed to arrest four people of Yemeni nationality smuggling illegal Ethiopian migrants from other governorates to Al-Mahra Governorate.
Deputy Director of Cargo Security and Director of Criminal Investigation, Dr. Rashid Al-Salahi, said in a statement to the Al-Mahra Police Media Center that security personnel seized four buses used to transport and smuggle illegal migrants to Al-Mahra Governorate.
Al-Salahi explained that the seizure came after extensive monitoring, tracking and investigation operations since the movement of illegal immigrants from Marib Governorate until their arrival at the outskirts of Al-Mahra Governorate. The operations and investigation were arranged to arrest them before they entered the Directorate of Shipping, where the seizure in two separate incidents led to the seizure of (7) girls from illegal Ethiopian immigrants, as well as the seizure of( 37) people on the seized buses during this week.
Al-Salahi added that the seized drivers and migrants were referred to the Public Prosecution in the Directorate of Shipping, while the procedures for collecting preliminary evidence are being completed with the other seized persons to complete their referral to the judiciary
